Abstract

Objective: The purpose of the current study was to assess cell proliferation by analyzing the expression of Ki-67 in 30 cases of oral lichen planus (OLP). Material and methods: 30 archival paraffin blocks of OLP were examined for Ki-67 expression using immunohistochemical staining. Normal oral mucosa served as a control. After carefully examining the tissue samples, the number of positive cells was counted in order to semi-quantitatively characterize the expression pattern.
